Workshops

BareHands Artisans Workshops are drop-in style, go with the flow, creative outlet. Subject matters vary and new projects are added regularly to keep you on your toes. BHA is adding new workshops monthly as an easy way to gather with friends, take time for yourself, and learn in a social, fun no strings attached environment. Workshops can be Art and Health related and will evolve as the studio does. It's also a great way to get involved with less time commitment.

Fabric Marbling

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Attention all artists and art enthusiasts… if you are curious or passionate about fabric printing, this workshop is for you! We are thrilled to feature instructor Natalie Stopka, who with her knowledge and experience, packs a full course into a one-day unique workshop intensive! This workshop also leads into exciting new fiber arts courses coming this Fall! 

Fabric marbling is a wonderful blend of monotype printing, repeat pattern development, and color play! In this intensive one-day workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of marbling, including how to select materials and manipulate the chemistry of the marbling tray. We’ll discuss the history behind European marbled decoration as we explore traditional techniques and combed patterns... click here to read more

Hand-Built Tripod Create & Glaze Clay Planters

2-PART WORKSHOP (MINI AND BIGGER)

DATES: SATURDAY 5/4/2019 and SATURDAy 5/18/2019 (Must register for both dates)

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

After such positive feedback we are expanding our 2-part workshops starting with this tripod planter workshop.

Each student will be making a total of two tripod planters; one mini, perfect for a warm up with clay, and one bigger one. Both special and will have their purpose once they are adorned with living starter succulents and other special plants as you wish. Kids Freedom Weaving Workshop

Button and Bead Supply Workshop

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Calling all jewelry makers, bead enthusiasts, weavers, and textile creators. This is our introductory workshop for Bead and button making hand made from Clay! We are calling it a “supply” themed workshop because it’s a great opportunity to make beads to embellish textile creations, stand alone for statement pieces, future jewelry creating and inspiration. Consider it making your own creative supplies.

As a bonus, we will first make a clay pinch pot to hold your creations, then spend the time forming various beads and or buttons with texture, using different techniques with both simplicity and fine detail… click here to read more

Join us for a relaxing and vivid afternoon of bundle dyeing to extract color and pattern from plants. Students will imprint fabric with the botanical dyes of petals, leaves, and roots. With a wide variety of design options, full of texture, letters, shell prints, stamps, wooden rollers, and too many to list, the options will surely be unique.
