Workshops

BareHands Artisans Workshops are drop-in style, go with the flow, creative outlet. Subject matters vary and new projects are added regularly to keep you on your toes. BHA is adding new workshops monthly as an easy way to gather with friends, take time for yourself, and learn in a social, fun no strings attached environment. Workshops can be Art and Health related and will evolve as the studio does. It's also a great way to get involved with less time commitment.

Teen and Adult To Dye For: Indigo Shibori Workshop C

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Discover the beauty of indigo shibori during our adult/teen workshop! This workshop for ages 13 and older is a great opportunity for a mixed-ages creative social outlet: take this alone or with friends and experience vivid satisfying results! Shibori is a series of Japanese resist dye techniques which create unique patterns on fabric by folding and binding. WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Join us for this feel good 1.5 hr workshop! Learn the origin of this Plant Art, the know how to recreate future ones, and have a great time doing it!

Kokedama is a form of Japanese bonsai, in which the roots of a plant are covered with soil and wrapped in moss and twine. It's a most beautifully unusual way to "pot" a plant, without actually using a pot. We like to call it living art. You can hang these green beauties to create a hanging string garden, or simply place them atop your favorite piece of pottery… click here to read more

This workshop also leads into exciting new fiber arts courses coming this Fall! 

Fabric marbling is a wonderful blend of monotype printing, repeat pattern development, and color play! In this intensive one-day workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of marbling, including how to select materials and manipulate the chemistry of the marbling tray. WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Calling all jewelry makers, bead enthusiasts, weavers, and textile creators. This is our introductory workshop for Bead and button making hand made from Clay! We are calling it a “supply” themed workshop because it’s a great opportunity to make beads to embellish textile creations, stand alone for statement pieces, future jewelry creating and inspiration. Consider it making your own creative supplies.

As a bonus, we will first make a clay pinch pot to hold your creations, then spend the time forming various beads and or buttons with texture, using different techniques with both simplicity and fine detail… click here to read more
