Bare Hands Artisans Mission: Established 4/2018

BareHands Artisans is  “A Collective Fine Art Studio.” It is the fruition of a dream layered with experiences over a long time  for Artist, Jillian Manno. Her dream was to create a space that promotes creativity both collectively and individually. The studio provides an opportunity to explore, learn, teach  and submerge oneself in various, colors,  skills and techniques of the Fine Arts.  Its mission is to cultivate a reciprocal connection of art, design, and the process.

Exploratory ideas will happen here with moments of success, failure, and the beauty of the reasons for both. This creative studio will evolve and be influenced by the very Artisans that gather at every level.  An ever changing calendar of opportunities and offerings will be inviting for one  to be apart of this collective studio. Whether you want to de-stress, find yourself , lose yourself, or tap into your true self, it will be a place of gratitude.

Jillian Manno

Jillian Manno, owner of BareHands Artisans, has been dreaming of this space for years. This studio created today is a culmination of early childhood experiences and raising her own family today. Her grandmother in Boston, Massachusetts, had a huge impact on her while growing up and cultivated her love of the arts at a very young age. Jillian pursued her path and graduated from Green Mountain College, Vermont with a BFA. She particularly gained a tremendous amount of experience during an internship at a bronze casting foundry. Some of the mediums that Jillian has worked in throughout her life are: print making, stone setting, stone carving, watercolors, paper-making, bronze casting, sculptural design, and ceramics. Sprinkled with remodeling and interior design projects, Jillian reflects her artistic journey in the BareHands Artisans studio.

Currently, Jillian resides at the Jersey Shore with her husband, Steffan, and her five children, which are absolutely her greatest gifts.

Mary Leather

Mud Hen Pottery is a Jersey Shore based potter and mud-slinger that creates handcrafted pottery pieces for people who love beautiful things for their daily lives. Each individual piece is wheel-thrown or handbuilt. Decorative and functional stoneware from the mind and hands of Mary Leather. Because of making a mess with clay for the past 30 + years and feeling the drying effects on my skin, it seemed a logical progression to making natural soap and skin care products in small artisan batches. Thus, Jersey Girl Soap came about.
