“Pan Asian Kitchen” with Hand-Built Pottery

This new series we are excited to offer at Bare Hands Artisans involves creating your own hand-built functional pottery relative to different subject matters for your kitchen or a gift to package up to another. This includes a demo night of a fun highlighted topics relating to food that you can also recreate in your own kitchen to compliment your new homemade pottery!
This is part 2 of our new series that we are excited to offer at BHA that will involve creating your own hand-built functional pottery relative to different subject matters for your kitchen OR a gift to package up to another’s perhaps... this includes a demo night of a fun high highlighted subject matter relating to food you can learn to recreate to accompany your new homemade pottery!
This 4 week Monday night Kitchen series course is titled “Pan-Asian Kitchen”. Each student will be making hand-built pottery consisting of a two sushi dish sets including matching dipping bowls. Also, two hand-built noodle/rice bowls. The bowls will have their own resting spot for chop sticks and we will make decorative chop stick rests for the table as well. In a fun atmosphere suitable for beginners and the experienced potter, fundamentals of hand-building will be taught to create our goals but individual expression will show. It’s an exciting topic to pair with hand- made pottery and will be beautiful to create with thrilling results. The third Monday is the demo night where we will have a guest chef preparing vegetarian rolls “Futomaki” style. Explanation of use of the Nori, different versions of Wasabi, Ginger and other ingredients including health benefits will be a highlight of the course and a possible future special meal re created by YOU. This workshop is truly the gift that keeps giving. Not only does it switch things up in your schedule involving multiple satisfying experiences, there will be skills acquired: design, creativity, working with clay, and a new recipe. Make what you admire!
* There will be one glazing session by the students and the rest of the work will be glazed by the studio. Students should expect there collection of work to be completed around two weeks after their final week (although they will receive some of their work back during the course.) This is to give time for drying, low fire, glaze application, and high firing preformed by BHA studios included in the price.
Food and beverage welcomed and encouraged during weekly classes.
