Instructor: Zoe Danch, Jillian Manno
Ages: 8 and up
It’s the kids turn! Register today for this special opportunity to learn wheel thrown pottery by being in a week long submerged clay camp. Students enrolled will have the creative opportunity to not only experience “throwing” clay on a pottery wheel but have multiple days to do so... practice makes perfect. Each day students will get a quick demo to start the day and we will go over some goals of the day along with letting go during the experience. It’s amazing to see the smiles and enthusiasm a pottery wheel can bring. Kids and Clay go together.
Techniques such as centering, opening and forming various shapes will be taught and reinforced through out the week in an encouraging, enthusiastic manner! We will also go over trimming our finished pieces and other finishing techniques. Hand-built pottery will be added in here and there for some quick satisfying results.
With a great student to teacher ratio we are looking forward to the kids getting a lot out of this art experience! (please note all finished works will be dried, low fired, glazed and high fired to be picked up by the studio at a later date and is built into the price. Around 2.5 weeks total)
Please pack a snack, water and lunch as artists get HUNGRY. No peanut product please
